美國樂隊 R.E.M. 剛於官網公佈（美國時間9月21日）樂隊解散的消息。

樂隊寫道：

"To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening." R.E.M.

R.E.M. 出道31年來一共推出過15張大碟，最新一張為今年的 Collapse Into Now。
