Sony Pictures 公開毒魔首段初版預告片，由喪屍樂園導演 Ruben Fleischer 執導，並由湯哈迪飾演被外星生物附身的主角 Eddie Brock。這將會是 Sony 首部製作的蜘蛛俠外傳電影，並於10月上映。
