UK download site Wippit recently claimed it would be the first to sell the Beatles songs digitally, posting a headline on its homepage. This is immediately denied by the band's record company EMI. In a statement issued by EMI, it denies the link-up and asked that the download site removed its claims, reports BBC News. The claim has since been removed from the Wippit website.
The Beatles' own company Apple has recently settled the logo dispute with computer giant Apple Inc. This leads to various rumours that the Beatles back catalogue is going to make its way onto Apple Inc's iTunes Music Store. However, there is no official words from EMI that the songs will be available online.
