Whitney Houston has passed away. She was 48. Her publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday (US Time, February 11) that the singer had died, but the cause of her death were unknown.

"At 3:55 pm Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at the Beverly Hilton hotel," police spokesman Mark Rosen stated.

She was one of the world's best-selling music artists between the mid-80s and late-90s, with hits including "I Will Always Love You" and "Saving All My Love For You". She also starred in hit films like The Bodyguard (1992), Waiting To Exhale (1995) and The Preacher's Wife (1996). Her seventh and final album is 2009's I Look To You. She has recently finished her part in the film Sparkle (2012).
