RIP Trish Keenan of Broadcast

Leslie Cheung almost 14 years ago

It was announced on Warp Records' website that Trish Keenan, the singer of electronic duo Broadcast, has died of complications with pneumonia today (January 14). She was 42. The statement reads:
It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pneumonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care.

Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time.

This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace.
Trish Keenan together with Roj Stevens, Tim Felton and James Cargill formed the band Broadcast in the mid-1990s and released serveal singles before being signed to Warp. By 2005, only Trish Keenan and James Cargill remained. Broadcast has released three albums: The Noise Made By People (2000), Haha Sound (2003) and Tender Buttons (2005) and a collaboration with Julian House's The Focus Group resulted in the 2009 mini-album Broadcast And The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age.
