Phil Selway's Solo Album Details Revealed

Radiohead's drummer Phil Selway has turned from a drummer to a singer-songwriter. He will release his debut solo album Familial on August 30 via Bella Union. The album would find its origin in Neil Finn's supergroup project, 7 Worlds Collide. Phil contributed two songs ("The Ties That Bind Us" and "The Witching Hour") on 7 Worlds Collide's second album, The Sun Came Out.

In the press release, it states that "Familial is a collection of sublimely fragile, haunting and heartfelt songs,"  which are proved by the two aforementioned songs. The album was recorded and produced by Courtyard Studios' resident engineer and producer Ian Davenport and features contribution from Lisa Germano, former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Sansone.
