Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have revealed details to The Beatles: Rock Band at E3 convention in Los Angeles on Monday (June 1). The pair were joined by Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison to announce 10 of the 45 songs available in the game. They are "I Saw Her Standing There", "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "I Feel Fine", "Taxman", "Day Tripper", "Back In The U.S.S.R.", "I Am The Walrus", "Octopus's Garden", "Here Comes The Sun", and "Get Back".

The game also supports songs and albums downloads. The first song made available for download is "All You Need Is Love", which will be available exclusively through Xbox Live on September 9, which is the same date that the game and remastered catalogue being released. Apple Corps Ltd, MTV Games and Microsoft will donate the song's proceeds to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Moreover, Abbey Road is named the first album to be available for download purchase.

For the background venues, there are the Cavern Club, the set of the Ed Sullivan Show, Budokan, Shea Stadium, the rooftop of Apple Records and, of course, Studio Two at Abbey Road Studios, alongside with some imaginative Dreamscapes.

Audio clips featuring conversation from The Beatles' recording sessions, some of which have never before been heard, are included in the game.

During the announcement event on E3, there is a live demo set with the song "Day Tripper", which you can watch it below.



There are two clips uploaded to the official site of The Beatles: Rock Band. The trailer is stunning as the Beatles seem to come alive in the digital age, but the cinematic opening scene is a mix of old and new, with animation paying tribute to The Beatles Cartoon and Yellow Submarine.

The Beatles: Rock Band will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii on September 9.
