Camera Obscura Signed To 4AD, New Single & Album

Glasgow's Camera Obscura has signed to 4AD and announced the release of their fourth album. My Maudlin Career will be released on April 20 on CD, LP and digital download. The band travelled to Sweden to work with producer Jari Haapalainen (Ed Harcourt, Peter, Bjorn & John, The Concretes) on the new album.

Lead singer Tracyanne Campbell commented on the new album, "Some people who have heard it say it's intense and quite dark. I suppose it is in a way. We were even more open and brave when making it than we were with the last record. I've never been so brutal when its come to writing lyrics. I wouldn't even call them lyrics. Just documentation of what was going on with me for a while. I truly believe it's the best we've done so far."

The title track is now available as a free download if you subscribe to their official mailing list. You can also listen to the title track below. There will be a single, "French Navy", released on April 13.
