Chris Martin Enjoys Being On Major Label

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has talked to Reuters that being on a major label, EMI, is like "living in your grandparents' house.""Everyone knows they need to move out, and they will eventually, but we kind of like our grandmother," he continued. "It's obviously an antiquated model, because of the internet, but we really love the people we work with. If we knew what the solution was to everything, then we'd do it. We have absolute respect for the Radioheads and The Raconteurs and people who can do what they like. We're in contract though, so we're just going to make the most of it and enjoy the people we get to work with."
In the meantime, the major label EMI is going to release the band's fourth studio album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends on June 16. The single "Violet Hill" was previously made available for free download for a week and was given away on a free 7" vinyl with NME. If you are in iTunes store enabled region, Hong Kong not included unfortunately, you can pre-order the album and receive the half-title track "Viva La Vida". If you are not, you can listen to the song along with the single with the cool little Coldplay widget below.
