Coldplay Reveal New Album Title

In a Rolling Stone online article, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin announced that the band's fourth album will be called Viva La Vida, which means "long live life". The name came to Chris after he saw a painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. "She went through a lot of shit, of course, and then she started a big painting in her house that said 'Viva la Vida,'" he says. "I just loved the boldness of it."

In the band's blog entry on March 19, 2008, the band also suggested that the new album would be called Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends, before Chris confirmed to be the first one.

The album will be released on June 16 via Parlophone.
