Ex-Suede/The Tears frontman Brett Anderson played his first solo concert here in Hong Kong tonight (August 14) with lots of Suede classics.

The show started at 20.30 with the strings from "The More We Possess The Less We Own Of Ourselves" started to play back, and the live band walked onto the stage, followed by Brett Anderson himself. Quite an interesting thing is that, you can see Mat Osman (ex-Suede) playing bass and Will Foster (ex-The Tears) playing keyboard.

The band started with few songs from Brett's solo album, "To The Winter", "Love Is Dead", "One Lazy Morning", "Dust And Rain" and "Intimacy". Then to everyone's delight, here comes the "Everything Will Flow" and "By The Sea". The band returned to "Colour Of The Night". Brett sat down, while the rest of the band left the stage, and started playing two acoustic numbers, "Song For My Father" and "The Wild Ones".

After these two, he said "Stop those acoustic nonsense, shall we? Let's play some electronic rock!" And the band started playing Brett's song for Pleasure, and recently released as an EP, "Back To You". Before launching into "The Infinite Kiss", Brett said, "Do you want to watch some more of my shitty guitar playing? Well, today is your lucky day!". During the song's outro, he played an acoustic guitar solo.

Then the rest of the night is dominated by Suede classics. The band continued with "She" and "Filmstart". Brett even said "Thank you!" twice in Chinese before jumping off stage to sing the last number before encore, "Saturday Night".

During encore, he performed "Can't Get Enough", "Trash". Before the last number, Brett told the audience it would be the last song of the night, and after the audience cheered for more songs, Brett jokingly said, "We've played 18 fucking songs! It is more than the Japan got, it is more than the Korea got..." and launched into "Beautiful Ones". "Goodbye Hong Kong! You've been wonderful!" he told the audience before leaving the stage.
