Wind River is a crime-solving story about a murder on Indian Reservation. The crime solving part is fascinating both in acting and visual. The cross cut between crime investigation and the truth of the murder is done seamlessly.
The film also tells how the native Americans are being treated badly, that they are put in reservations in the middle of nowhere, and their youths cannot see a bright future so many of them fall victim to drugs. Moreover, there are only half a dozen cops to patrol the whole reservation, and no database for missing Indians, so it feels like they are left alone to fend for themselves. Do we Hong Kongers feel the same?
