Director Luc Besson's adaptation of French sci-fi comic book series Valérian and Laureline - Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets is a visually stunning adrenaline ride of action. The design of aliens, planets and space station are imaginative and the director has expanded a worldview with infinite possibilities for stories. Since Avatar, there are many movies with imaginative creatures or planets, and that make Valerian... look a bit "common", but if you try to open up your imaginations, this is a whole new world to explore.

As an introductory chapter, the plot line is pretty straight-forward or even predictable but that does not stop you from enjoying the action and visuals, and there are lots of humour in it as well. The chemistry between the two leads (Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne) is magical.

Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets may not reach the classic status of The Fifth Element, but this is definitely a film for dreamers.
