The Mummy 2017

The Mummy is the first entry of the new Universal Monsters series - Dark Universe, which brings a great update to the classic story. It is nothing you would expect for a mummy film. Its dark tone and monstrous creatures give the dark horror root a timely update for 21st century. The resurrection of zombies created by the The Mummy Ahmanet (Sofia Boutella) feels like they were dropping off from the old black and white films. The whole film is full of a wild ride with monsters.

Since this is the first in an interconnected movie universe, the story is unavoidably teasing other creatures with the secret organisation Prodigium. Although they should keep Edward Hyde, but skip those Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Mummy 1999 series easters eggs should make the plots much tighter.
