This is an epic journey for a movie-maker to realise his vision and an amazing reward for comic book fans, and especially the fans behind the movement.
We have always been fans of Zack Snyder's visual design since Dawn Of The Dead, 300 and Watchmen. Starting with Man Of Steel, he continued to deliver epic superhero fights one after another. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice may have its issues (Hello Marthas!), the Ultimate version does tell a better story than the theatrical version. Then in 2017, a terrible version of Justice League, and obviously one that was not finished and approved by the director, was released. I can still remember how angry I was when I left the cinema on first and only watch. How can a studio butcher a film-maker's and the crew and cast's creativity like that?
Thanks to fans campaigning for years, we can finally see the true vision helmed by Zack Snyder.
The Snyder Cut is a far more superior complete version than the 2017 theatrical shit. Sequence are restored and put in order, visuals are done in much more details, Tom Holkenborg's (Junkie XL) score is much more contemporary. Most importantly, it tells a much better and complete story, and everything makes sense. The showdown battle during Part 6, or every single fight for that matter, are much more intense and smooth. With the lenghty runtime, character developments can be build up better, and it reflects with the emotional victory during the final battle. Both in the film's narrative and behind-the-scene darmas literally. The film is an epic love letter to comic book mythology and its fandom.
We certainly do hope Zack Snyder would return for more DCEU films, but in the meantime, let us rejoice in the glorious Snyder Cut. Oh and we hope to watch the film on IMAX one day.
