Rose McGowan Is <b><i>Red Sonja</i></b>

Rose McGowan will play Red Sonja in the Robert Rodriguez produced comic book adaptation film, due out in 2009. Rose McGowan previously starred as Cherry in Planet Terror, the part which Robert Rodriguez directed in Grindhouse.

Two teaser posters have made their way onto the internet.


Red Sonja is based on the heroine created by Robert E. Howard and adapted for Marvel Comics by Roy Thomas. Dynamite Entertainment is currently carrying the Red Sonja comic series.

Red Sonja was last turned into film character in 1985's film of the same name, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Brigitte Nielsen.
