<b><i>Toy Story</i></b> Series Go 3D

Walt Disney Studios and Pixar will turn Toy Story (1995) and Toy Story 2 (1999) into 3D format. Toy Story 3D is expected to open in US cinemas on October 2, 2009, while Toy Story 2 3D is scheduled for February 12, 2010. Both 3D versions are ahead of the third instalment of the series. Toy Story 3 is scheduled to open on June 18, 2010 in the US.

John Lasseter of Disney Animation told Empire Online regarding the plan, "I am sure that this is going to be nothing short of fantastic and people are going to be blown away by the experience. With Toy Story 3 shaping up to be another great adventure for Buzz, Woody and the gang from Andy's room, we thought it would be great to let audiences experience the first two films all over again and in a brand new way. 3D offers lots of great new possibilities for the art of animation and we will continue to use this new technology to tell our stories in the best possible way."

Though it is not announced, both 3D films would probably be using the Disney-developed Disney 3D technique. We did not enjoy much the Disney 3D technique as seen on The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, but since Toy Story was drawn and developed in digital format, we should be seeing better use of the technique on Toy Story 3D Serires.
