Kate Winslet Replaces Nicole Kidman in <b><i>The Reader</i></b>

Since Nicole Kidman is now pregnant, she has to withdraw from The Reader, originally her next film. Empire Online has reported that Kate Winslet has stepped in for Nicole's role. The Reader is based on a novel by Bernhard Schlink. It is a story of a teenager who falls for a mysterious older woman (played by Kate Winslet now) in post-war Germany. Director Stephen Daldry has already started shooting the movie in Berlin. The film also features Ralph Fiennes and German actor David Kross.
