Ben Affleck To Direct New Standalone Batman Film

During Warner Bros.' panel at CinemaCon (think Comic-con for cinema owners) in Las Vegas, WB chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced WB and DC Films are developing a standalone Batman film and added "We're excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman film."

The new Dark Knight has been developing a script with DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns, and some report claims a draft was completed last month. With the new announcement, he is set to direct and reprise his role as Batman in the new film. While there's no release date for the standalone Batman film yet, it could fall into one of the two untitled DC film releases announced last week.
