Henry Cavill Is The New Superman

British actor Henry Cavill has been casted as Superman / Clark Kent in the upcoming Superman reboot - Superman: Man Of Steel.

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognised and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen," said director Zack Snyder in a statement. "I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and S shield."

Henry Cavill is best known for playing Charles Brandon in the TV series The Tudors. He also stars in Stardust and Woody Allen's Whatever Works.

The Christopher Nolan-produced Superman reboot is set for a December 2012 release date.
