American actress Farrah Fawcett died on Thursday (June 25), in the intensive care unit of Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California after losing her three-year battle with cancer.

She was diagnosed with anal cancer in September 2006. After a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, she was declared cancer-free in February 2007. However, later that spring, the cancer had returned.

Farrah Fawcett was well-know for her role as Jill Munroe in 1970s TV drama Charlie's Angels. The documentary Farrah's Story, which documented Fawcett's battle with cancer was aired on US television network in May 2009.
