In Tel Aviv, the volunteers at the Hotline for Migrant Workers tirelessly advocate for their charges: refugees from Sudan and Eritrea brought to Israel and now stranded - some of them deemed criminals and imprisoned, some prevented from working, and all lacking basic human rights due to xenophobia, racism, conflicting policies and outrageous bureaucracy. Landsmann captures the volunteers and the underrepresented people they fight for in a sometimes futile but vital struggle against an unjust, broken system.
