In 2009, Israel enacts a new law regarding the citizenship criteria for children of migrant workers. Fearing his 4-year-old son may be deported, caregiver Moises tries to keep him home at all times. Anxious single mother Janet strives to raise a mixed teenaged daughter caught between her Israeli and Filipino heritages. Meanwhile, young new arrival Tina begins life in Tel Aviv with high hopes.
