App 2013
Plot Synopsis
Anna Rijnders, a modest and intelligent 21-year-old psychology student, is addicted to Apps, social media and her smartphone. The morning after a wild party in her student complex, Anna wakes up with a giant hangover, unable to remember anything from the previous night. One thing she does notice, however, is that someone has installed a mysterious App called "IRIS" on her smartphone. The ingenious App is able to answer any question, not only on science and history, but also about her personal life and the lives of her friends.
Anna soon discovers that the App will not easily let itself be removed or destroyed. All attempts to delete it result in fatal, mysterious incidents. "IRIS" delves deeper and deeper into Anna’s personal life, flawlessly exposing all of her deepest secrets. The cunning App starts to terrorise her, distributing compromising photographs, videos and text messages about herself and her friends via her contacts list. Unwillingly, she becomes involved in grisly and inexplicable events, and is drawn into the dark and fearful world of the App. When Anna decides to take a stand against the evil App, she unwittingly sets a chain of horrifying events in motion, putting her life and that of others in danger.
