Not yet out of elementary school, Nick and his younger brother have already been hardened by poverty, abuse and alcohol. But these two tough boys still find joy in their newborn baby brother. Although short-lived, this glimmer of hope haunts them well into their adulthood. 30-year-old Nick is a lonely, moody and anguished man. He has difficulty controlling his anger. His inability to reach out and reconnect with his brother only makes him even angrier. He got into prison two years ago when his ex-girlfriend broke up with him, and he has never been able to achieve intimacy with his neighbor. While his brother manages to raise a kid on his own, his drug habit has turned him into an unstable father. Nick and his brother have spent their lives trying to love, trying to forget, and trying to understand. The brothers will soon get a chance to reconnect and to finally realise that they're not to blame for everything.
