Lebanon 2009
Plot Synopsis
Claustrophobic, visceral and gut-wrenching, Lebanon continues the recent trend of excellent anti-war films about the 1982 war in Lebanon. Like Waltz With Bashir's Ari Folman, the director of Lebanon was a direct participant in that war. But here, the events are compacted into 24 hours - most of it inside a stuffy, panic-rending tank. The result is an immediate, you-are-there experience that, despite the lack of background information on the protagonists, engages and never lets go.
