Honeymoons 2009
Plot Synopsis
Honeymoons begins, as expected, with weddings. Hope and humour abound during such joyous occasions, and Paskaljevic captures the drama with expert lensing. But the protagonists - two unrelated young couples from Albania and Serbia - are not the ones getting married. Instead, the celebrations serve as catalysts for their desire to migrate out of their countries into Western Europe. This rare Serbian-Albanian co-production tackles the issues of European immigration and transnationalism via two shattering stories of equal power.
