Cow 2009

A Shandong peasant was assigned to care for the village cow during the Sino-Japanese War. Even after the entire village gets wiped out, he stubbornly continues the task, protecting his dear companion from Japanese soldiers, opportunistic thugs and hungry refugees alike.
