Young Krabat (David Kross), an orphan, makes his way through starving Germany. One night an eerie voice forces its way into his dreams and leads him to the dark mill at Koselbruch. There a strict but charismatic Master offers him an apprenticeship working at the mill, an offer that will change Krabat's life forever.
