Imagine 1972
Plot Synopsis
"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one."
These words epitomise John Lennon's lifelong pursuit of peace and love, whose vision of world harmony also led him to create such indelible classic as "Give Peace A Chance" and "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)". Among his works, "Imagine", with its stirring melody and timeless lyrics, was cited by Rolling Stone magazine as “the greatest musical gift to the world.” Using the power of rock and roll, Lennon expressed his faith in a utopian world that is free and without barriers. This film, which combines music, imagery and style, was co-directed by Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono. Hovering between reality and fantasy, Imagine is a contemporary pop-art piece. Produced almost 50 years ago, this re-released version of Imagine has been completely restored, remixed and remastered, with additional footage of John Lennon and Yoko Ono during the making of this film as well as some never-before-released material, allowing audiences to relive Lennon’s spirit of peace and equality.
